Description

This well wooded island of 700 acres boasts thousands of Lignumvitae trees and coconut trees, elevations to 40 feet and over 30,000 feet (9km) of shoreline, year round prevailing winds, a good sheltered harbour, an abundant supply of good fresh water, two fairly large ponds, excellent fishing, and good soil.

Little Ragged Island is a short swim away from Ragged Island, the principal island is a chain of Bahama islands approx. 110-miles long, stretching from Long Island, Bahams towards Cuba in the south. there is an airstrip in Duncan Town, Ragged Island (population approx. 80)about 200 meters away. Little Ragged Island is approx. 210 miles S.E. of Nassau and 350 miles S.E. of Miami.

Bahamasair flies regularly from Nassau as do charters from Nassau and the U.S. The mailboat provides supplies and takes approx. 14 hours from Nassau.
